2010 Closing Cost Averages per State
 
The survey was done by Bankrate and Illinois ranked 31st out of the states for costs. The average costs for the loan origination was $1422 for the mortgage portion and $2083 for title charges, etc.  The total would be $3505.
  
Compared to 2009 average closing costs that is an INCREASE of $876 on the title & closing costs portion.  Lender has barely increased their costs over 2009.
  
What a ripp-off! There are no reasons whatsoever for that type of increase!
